So… I did more doodles of Hector and Abby.
Also been thinking more on their dynamic and I suddenly have a lot of feels about the two. I’m also starting to change my mind a bit on whether or not they’d work as a couple, but, am actually starting to lean towards “maybe they could.”
Either way, these pictures are a lot about Abby being fed up and alternatively relaxing, because she’s the person people dump way too much shit on and eventually she decides, “you know what, I’m not dealing with this anymore.” Hector is the dude who’s willing to be her shoulder to lean on and cry on when she needs it and Abby really does need that.
Meanwhile, Hector’s innocent and naive at times. He’s one of the sweetest dudes out there and I think Abby helps ground him a lot. She’s more cynical and harsh and Hector needs someone who’ll pull him out of the clouds every once in a while. I think he’s almost hesitant to dump his own shit on Abby, despite being a superhero/witch stressing him out a lot. And I think Abby would be all like, “Get your head out of your ass. You support me, I support you.” And Hector would laugh happily at that and they’d go out for Pudding (the FroYo of their town) and vent to each other. And Abby would be the one person Hector is willing to show his anger and frustration to, because she shows hers to him. And they’d end up laughing because it’s just so depressingly funny, the weight they both have on their shoulders when they’re still so young. Not to mention, people seem to think they can just dump shit on the two and don’t always think about how, that does effect Hector and Abby. I think eventually, the two both will go, “Hey, I love you guys, but I got my own life to deal with, I can’t always be the one dealing with yours.”
And in a way, I think they both sort of hide the opposite sides of themselves. Hector hides his harshness and Abby her softness and when they’re around each other, they’re more comfortable showing things they don’t show others. They’re not as able to do so with Kevin, because Kevin doesn’t get it as much. I know I haven’t talked about him that much or even drawn him here, but the feeling I get from that dude is that he’s just plain open. Comfortable with himself and doesn’t have the same kinds of pressures on him as Abby and Hector do.
While Hector and Hannah are close, since Hector sees Hannah as his sister, he doesn’t want to burden her. And Hannah, while her life isn’t a cakewalk or anything, has very different problems than Hector. So they don’t understand each other on the same level as Abby and Hector do. Hector might be able to talk to his Nana (paternal grandmother), but he doesn’t want to tell her about the whole ‘dangerous alter ego’ stuff, because she’s his family and it’d worry her. Same goes for his parents.
Abby’s got a slightly different problem with her family. She adores them, but she’s never been the open one. In fact, as the middle sibling, she’s often stuck being her other sibling’s support and it’s exhausting for her. But, her and her siblings don’t feel like they want to dump all their petty issues on their parents who already work so hard to support the family. (Her parents have good jobs, but five kids is no laughing matter financially.) And Abby sort of took on the support role to spare her parents, so she can’t go to them. And her oldest bro’s in law school, so she can’t go to him. Her other older bro needs her to keep his secrets and doesn’t really get how stressful it is for her. And she can’t go to her younger siblings since they’re little kids.
So, it kinda just ends up being her and Hector for a while.
…And wow, that was long…
Anyhow. The last thing is the weird, psuedo-medieval clothes, which was just me messing around with an aesthetic I like.
I’ve been meaning to post something with Hector in it for ages, but never got around to it. So, this is Hector Kingston, he’s Sarah’s cousin, though they’ve never actually met due to Hector’s mom have a big fight with her own mother.
Unlike Sarah, Hector has a very happy home life. He’s really close to both his parents and his paternal grandmother. Here, he’s hanging out with Hannah Cheng, his god sister and best friend. Her parents are his god parents and they’re like a second family to him.
Hector as a person is a really sweet and shy type of guy. He’s a bit awkward and can get over enthusiastic about things, and is a total idealist. His humour though, is oddly a bit dry.
He’s also another one of my superhero characters. He’s actually a witch, like Kiandra and Takechi and his power is “wave” manipulation, though so far he’s only got the hang of sonic waves. His superhero name is “Loud Mouth.”
So, I sketched Sarah and Zoey in vintage dresses ‘cause I like vintage dresses and I really wanted to draw girls in red lipstick. They have totes no reason to wear them and Sarah’s not even a fan of dresses… But, uh, I drew the dresses in their favorite colors.
Anyways, I’m thinking of writing something about them for femslash february, ‘cause they’ve been like “write about us, write about us” in my head. But, I’m not sure if anyone wants to read about my superhero gal couple. So, I’m gonna post in the tag and ask if anyone minds me posting more stuff with them up later. For info on them, check here and here. I’m still gonna try and do two pieces (either drawings or oneshots or maybe a longer fic) with Sally and Molly from Sherlock, but I kinda wanna do OCs too, since I have an ego and all >_>
So, Sarah and Zoey’ve been on my mind lately… and I’ve been feeling like drawing little Sarah. So, I did a quick sketch of her.
This is her as a preteen/young teen. It’d be only a couple years after Zoey and Sarah met. (Sarah was 10-12, Zoey’d be 15-17, though they don’t get together/find romantic interest in each other until both are in their twenties.) Sarah’s grandma liked to dress Sarah up in poofy, frilly outfits. Sarah never liked them, but didn’t have the heart to tell her grandma. Also, a little Sarah had a bit of that girl=stupid mentality (but thankfully grew out of it) so she really disliked the color pink. Plus, she skipped around four grades and didn’t like standing out so much… the clothes really didn’t help.
So, I haven’t drawn fan art in ages and this is my first time drawing anything for Sherlock, but it’s Sally and Molly. I had the oddest idea pop into my head for a fic today (a Sally/Molly fic) that went along the lines of “Sherlock’s gone, Sally feels guilty and Molly knows more than she’s letting on. But, someone has to solve these seemingly unsolvable murders going on and frankly, the police are still clueless.” But, I haven’t wrote fics in ages… the last ones where for Hetalia and I barely have time…
Then this popped up on my dash and I’m taking it as a sign. Right now, I’m brainstorming and if anyone wants to give me some help, well, I’d be welcome to it. If anyone wants to read my old (and probably not really awesome) Hetalia fics, they’re posted here.
This is Andrea Rupert, Fem!David Rupert. She’s a lot like him in personality though, a lot more graceful(?), dreamy(?), I’m not really sure the word for it. She’s still a cop and kicks ass and still takes care of her younger siblings. Most of her coworkers now her as Andie. Not much really changes, though she’s into pretty things a lot more than David is.
These are some design sketches, I’m still not sure exactly what I want her to look like/how I want her to dress.
I wanted to draw David blushing, because the guy (and pretty much anyone in the big, sprawling extended family of his that he knows nothing about) blushes really easily. This is basically his reaction to being flirted with, ‘cause he’s really unused to it. It also sort of makes him nervous, but not in an all bad way… just in a “how am I even supposed to react????” way.
These are some colored sketches/doodles of Takechi. Her wardrobe is my favorite of all my characters to draw, though since I sort of suck at clothing design, it never looks as cool as intended… but, still… The aqua hair is a wig, she likes to wear wigs a lot since she can do more hairstyles and colors without damaging her hair too much.
The funny thing about the way Takechi dresses is that it seems to scream “loud, bold girl,” but Takechi’s pretty reserved. Though, if anyone wants to give her shit, she’s pretty good at giving them flat expressions and sarcasm back.
So, this is Blair (who’s already been drawn a year back) and Mark, my friend’s, Destronfemme’s, character.
POSSIBLY TRIGGERING MATERIAL BELOW (unhealthy/possibly abusive relationships and self destructive behavior.)
So, I’ve drawn Blair, but I’ll describe her here since I didn’t really do that last time. She’s someone who’s been through hell and hasn’t healed. It makes it worse that no one’s tried to help her, that she just believes herself to be this horrible person and that she drowns herself in meaningless sex (not that casual sex in and of itself bad, it’s just that she does it in a purposely self destructive way) and alcohol. Most of the time, she’s pretty abrasive.
The other guy is Mark, he’s Destronfemme’s character, and the son of Liam McGuff and Destronfemme’s character MiYuk Guk. I won’t describe him too much here, ‘cause he’s not my character and Destronfemme can tell you about him if you’d like to know. But, he doesn’t exactly take the best care of himself either and also has some not so happy things in his life. (Though, him and his dad seem pretty close and seem to have a pretty happy relationship.)
Their relationship is anything but healthy, to put it lightly. Blair’s got major trust issues and a fear of being destroyed if she cares too much, so she tends to hurl insults and at Mark and be really cold towards him. (Not that her behavior is excusable.) Mark for his part sticks around, even if sometimes she’s pretty much begging him to leave her or trying to convince him that she’s horrible or something along those lines. (She tried to leave him, but she ended up not being able to bring herself to do it.) He keeps insisting that Blair isn’t a horrible person and that just makes her angry. When Blair realized she actually cared about Mark, she had a breakdown because it was just so frightening to her. She’s really afraid that it gives Mark power to break her. I’m not sure what Mark’s thinking on his end…
So, just some doodles I did the other day.
The lady in the pretty period dress is Takechi. I have no idea in what context she’d ever wear that, but I was reminiscing on Pride and Prejudice and well, it made me want to draw regency style clothing.
The person next to her is Reiko “Rei” Matsumoto. It’s also unlikely that Rei’d ever dress in regency era clothing, but uh, I thought the outfit looked cool. >_> Anyway, Rei’s this rough and tumbly sort of person, who tends to make quips at people and doesn’t hesitate to call out bullshit. But, Rei’s also a major softy/”sap” and puppy dog eyes are the best weapon to use against the kid. Rei’s also a dancer, hip hop and street dancing, mostly. The upper right hand picture is drunk!Rei, and the kiddo’s a pretty giggly drunk. Not that Rei normally drinks…
The bottom is sketches of a twelve year old David Rupert, when he was finally able to get a hairstyle he wanted after his mom divorced his dad. It’s spiked up because he wants to look like “those awesome guys from Dragon Ball Z!” He’s tickling his little sister, Mary, in the bottom right corner. They’re really close, each other’s best friends. He’s actually got two younger siblings (Mary and Robert) and he’s pretty much the one who raises them because their mom’s not exactly emotionally okay and is busy working to keep the family afloat. (David ends up helping out with finances as soon as he legally can, but they’re pretty poor until after the kids are grown and have their own stable jobs.)
